Alexis
Tech
I'm Alexis! I have worked in this clinic for the last 10 years. I started my senior year of high school, and worked my way through the ranks to where I am now, which is a veterinary technician. I have been a technician for about 7 years and my goal is to eventually become a veterinarian. I didn’t always want to be a veterinarian. I started studying nursing about a year before I switched my major to veterinary medicine. I found my love for caring for animals through some of the hardest times in their lives and then getting them back to their families. The hardest part is when they don’t make it home to their families. De-stressing is an important part of all veterinary medicine. I love spending my free time painting or reading. I live with my family along with our six cats and two dogs. So, I guess you could say I am a cat person! I really like working with dogs in the clinic though, they are usually more agreeable.
From the clinic:
Alexis has quite a bit of schooling under her belt, and it comes in handy. A lot of technicians do things the same way they have been done at the for ages, but Alexis often has a different approach. She gives guidance to our newer, and sometimes our more experienced, technicians. She is amazing at explaining "the why" to clients, not just the what.
